Last year 71 people lost their lives in road accidents in Estonia.
Estonia to raise speed limit to 110 on 133 kms of road this summer
The Estonian Road Administration will start placing signs on Wednesday to raise the maximum legal speed to 110 kilometers per hour in select sections spanning altogether 133 kilometers of the country's main roads during the warm season.
Mobile speed camera tested: 94 percent exceed limit during half hour
At end of this year, interior ministry and Road Administration will launch tests of mobile speed cameras which will feature the remarkable quality of not being located at a traditional «known» spot. Rather, the devices are relocated according to need.

Why do these roads of ours become bad (so fast)? Again and again, we the users and the car owners have to pose this question. By media, the ball is passed to scientists, to builders, to the officialdom. The answers vary according to who is saying, and no doubt the reasons are many. A standard reply goes like we’re not so rich as to ensure all-out excellent road repairs. In other words, there ain’t no money and that’s it.

Estonian roads agency to plow more money into maintenance
So far half of the funds set apart for roads in Estonia has been used for building large-scale road infrastructure objects and the other half for maintenance, but according to a new road preservation program the volume of maintenance should grow, deputy director general of the Road Administration Kaupo Sirk said in an interview with the weekly Maaleht.
